Transdermal Alcohol Tags

A recent BBC article describes the introduction of a 12 month trial of transdermal ankle tags which monitor alcohol levels in sweat every 30 mins. The trial is taking places across four London boroughs and aims to reduce the cost and harm caused by excessive drinking by certain individuals. During the trial period courts in the four boroughs will be able to use 'alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirements' for individuals who break the law whilst under the influence of alcohol.
