Drug consumption rooms in Brighton

Collection of sources (by Russel Webster) which discuss and provide a wider perspective on a proposal to provide drug consumption rooms in Brighton. These rooms are a safe place for intravenous drugs users to inject cleanly and safely without running the risk of prosecution and aimed to reduce the number of drug related deaths in the local area.

This is expanded on here in the Independent, which describes the fact that this idea is nothing new, having been used already in other countries including Switzerland and Canada. The experience of taking the drugs is also shown to be contrasting to the assumed environment, these rooms are clinical and drugs are administered with nurse supervision.
