'Who we are

The Alcohol Learning Centre (ALC) was originally commissioned by the Department of Health under the Alcohol Improvement Programme (April 2008 - March 2011) to help reduce alcohol-related hospital admissions across the NHS. The ALC transferred to Public Health England on 1 April 2013 and is now part of Public Health England's alcohol learning resources.

This is an on-line one-stop-shop which collates, co-ordinates and disseminates learning and promising practice from across the NHS, Local Authorities and the Third Sector. It contains alcohol specific documents, guidance and tools, examples of alcohol harm reduction initiatives across England and provides training resources to support frontline practitioners and commissioners in delivering Identification and Brief Advice (IBA) and theHigh Impact Changes for Alcohol.'
